Marsha Augustine

A star was indeed born when Marsha Augustine entered this realm.  Born at the Dos'dane Health Center in the commonwealth of Dominica and raised in the
northern village of Paix-Bouche, at the age of 7 Marsha knew that her voice was the lead instrument that would catapult her to a life of entertaining countless fans.  With this foresight, Marsha joined the Paix-Bouche Junior choir while in grade 3 and
graduated to the senior choir in grade 5 at the Paix-bouche Primary School. She went on to co-found the 'Summer Girls', all girls group, with her neighbor Sophia Lawrence by age 11 performing at venues all over her native Dominica.
A short stint in Washington DC exposed her to the music of Burning Flames via a Caribbean record store and this cemented her love of soca.  Marsha returned to Dominica at age 13, joined ‘Nature Boyz Band’ while still in high school and in 2003 released "West Indian Kanaval ", an up-tempo number common around the
Caribbean on the ‘Riddim Family’ album.  She later joined First Serenade Band out of Point Michelle, Dominica at age 16 while in college.  As the lead female vocalist of the band in 2008, Marsha's released a track called "Doh Wine On Me" on the ‘Body Work’ album.
A true entertainer continues to perfect their craft and Marsha is no different.  She aims to please her fans through her stalwart dedication and continues to perform at a variety of venues throughout Dominica including The Banana Bar and Grill, JR's Bar n Grill, River Stone Bar n Grill, Cellars Bar, Ichos Bar n Grill, Fort Young Hotel, and Anchorage Hotel.  With a few singles to her credit, Marsha is determined to add a few more notches to her belt of experience.  She knows this means countless hours of studio time grinding to churn out exceptional music that her fans expect from a born star.
As a solo artist, Marsha is shining like the exceptional star she was destined to be from inception, singing soca, zouk and reggae.  With soca music as her true passion, Marsha continues to work on a variety of new material to infuse and energize Dominica's carnival and a host of other regional events.
As one of the newest artistes under Island Network Inc's management, Marsha plans to use her work ethic to generate new music with the ultimate goal of
enlarging her fan base. Marsha's most recent recording, "I like it" (2012), a tune reminiscent of songs from the likes of Destra and Nadia Batson, can be found on YouTube. Follow her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/marsha.augustine2
